Choose between two home-education routes: BESE-approved home study and a nonpublic school not seeking state approval are separate routes with different applications and records. Follow your route’s annual process: For BESE home study, apply within 15 days of beginning and renew annually with the required evidence. Follow the separate annual registration process if using the nonapproved nonpublic-school route. Protect future scholarship options: TOPS eligibility depends on the education route and other conditions. LA GATOR participation is also a separate route and cannot run concurrently with either home-study registration option.
