File the homeschool affidavit: For the homeschool route, submit the affidavit of intent to the county school superintendent within 30 days of beginning. Follow the county’s identity-document requirements and the law’s provisions for delayed instruction. Teach the required subjects: Provide instruction in reading, grammar, mathematics, social studies, and science. Notify the county when homeschooling ends as required by the statute. Keep ESA participation separate: An Empowerment Scholarship Account contract is a separate education route. ESA students must follow their contract and program rules instead of filing as independent homeschool students.
